Niyo is a UK-based edtech company which helps people pick up skills across a diverse range of technical and non-technical concepts. Niyo does this through 2 major offerings: it’s state-sponsored bootcamp programs, and it on-demands learning platform; Niyolabs.com

Niyo particularly focuses its bootcamp programs on under-represented individuals living in the UK.

The company's commitment to diversity and inclusion is reflected in their selection criteria, which prioritizes women, ethnic minorities, and individuals from low-income backgrounds. Through this approach, Niyo has successfully helped hundreds of participants transition into tech careers, with many securing positions at leading UK companies.

I joined the team as a Program Manager and my role involved overseeing and coordinating various bootcamp programs across the UK. I worked closely with all stakeholders to ensure our learning experience is as great as can be and our curriculum stayed relevant so our graduates are well-prepared for the job market.

Working at NIYO was an entirely different experience for me as managing state-funded bootcamps meant that all processes and outcomes had to be air-tight. One experience that stood out for me was running NIYO’s entrepreneurship-focused bootcamp called the Big Break Bootcamp. Here, women with feasible business ideas were taught everything they needed to grow that business idea into a fully-functional business in the UK. I met some exceptional business women while running this and I’d love to shout out a few:

I interacted with so many other brilliant minds at Niyo and it really put into perspective how much more impact we could be making collectively if we empower the right people with education and funding.
